The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) increased on Wednesday the regulatory duty imposed on imported goods.
According to sources, some of the imported items were the ones on which the FBR imposed a duty for the first time.
According to details, duty on imported honey was increased from 20 to 30 percent and duty on cheese from 35 to 50 percent.
A regulatory duty of 10 percent was imposed on mushrooms; olives and other imported vegetables would have a 10 percent regulatory duty imposed on it along with imported seafood.
A duty of five percent was put on imported paper and electric sound amplifier, while the five percent increase was imposed on sports goods and shoes.
The duty on imported furniture was increased from 10 to 45 percent, while electrical items would see an increase of 10 percent duty. Imported marble would have a 10 percent duty, while there would be a five percent increase in duty on plastic items.
For cars, there would be a 10 percent increase in duty on 4×4 vehicles, and same for car parts.
